Mangalore : The S Bangarappa Vichara Vedike organized a programme at the Government Employees Association Auditorium in Mangalore  on October 26, Friday on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of the late chief minister of Karnataka.

Vinaykumar Sorake, former MP, who was the chief guest, said late Bangarappa was the voice of the backward classes, poor and t he oppressed sections of the society, He also recollected the several welfare schemes initiated by Bangarappa during his chiefministership.

A  visually impaired  singer Kasturi and  a differently abled artiste Sudharatna were felicitated on the occasion. Clothes were also provided to mentally ill and HIV infected children.

Former MLA   Rukmaya Poojari, Seetaram, President of Billawa Ekikarana Samithi, M Mohan, Changappa, Members of the Vichara Vedike, former minister Nagaraj Shetty, MG Hegde and others were present on the occasion.
