Bangalore: Hemant Nimbalkar, IPS, whose house and office had been raided on 17th March 2009 by Lokayukta officials to seize excess income(as announced by N. Santosh Hegde, to be Rs 250 crores), but could evaluate his wealth to the extent of Rs 76 lakhs only, had filed a defamation suit then, against Hegde in High Court which dismissed his suit.
Hemant made a higher appeal in High Court again on Lokayuka raids in his house and offoce3. the single judge office. The single judge Court of KHC has considered this appeal now and issued a legal notice on Tuesday to former Lokayukta N.S. Hegde, for making a statement with wrong information on Nimbalkar’s actual wealth.
The Lokayukta raids had been conducted at the time on homes of five persons, including the SP(internal security) in Bangalore, Hemant.
The assets valued then did not reach Rs 250 crores, but only Rs.76 Lakhs, yet over and above Rs25lakhs that should normally belong to the IPS officer.
But N.S. Hegde erred in saying that his wealth was Rs250 crores.
