Kasaragod : Ichlampadi Rama Rai (82), the former MP of Kasargod, died in a private hospital in Kasargod on Dec 2.
Ichlampadi Ram Rai bears the credit of being the first Congress candidate to defeat CP Mcandidate E. K. Balanandan in the Kasargod Lok Sabha constituency in 1984.
Rama Rai, who was a former member of the AICC, was the managing trustee of Delampadi Mahalingeshwara and Karinje Mahalingeshwara temples. He is survived by wife, two daughters, and two sons.
