Mangaluru : Former Union minister B Janardhana Poojary, slammed over remarks made by Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa in Assembly.
Addressing in a press meet held at District Congress office here on Monday, January 5 he said that, “Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa has launched a war against the Congress government in the state. He is a seasoned politician, who has the experience as a minister. It is his duty to work sincerely without any bias within the Constitutional jurisdictions as a speaker,” Poojary said lashing at the Speaker. Commenting on Speaker’s remarks over health department’s functioning, Poojary questioned, “why Kagodu could not do the same when he was the health minister of the state?”
He said, Kagodu criticized the government’s functioning. He asked Kagodu is a opposition Leader in Assembly? . The Constitution of India has specifically mentioned Rules of Procedures for members in Assembly. There are ministers to answer the questions of the Opposition,” Poojary said and alleged that Kagodu is unhappy for not getting a ministerial berth in Congress government.
