Mangalore : State Minister for PWD CM Udasi laid the foundation for Vakeelara Bhavan in Mangalore on September 1, Saturday. Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda was present as a chief guest at the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Udasi said the government has released Rs 6 crores for the construction of a court complex as demanded by the Bar Association and added Rs 4 crores would be provided for the Vakeelara Bhavan. He said a total sum of Rs 53 crores will be spent for renovation of courts in the district. He also said the new building construction should be completed within two years.
Others who spoke were Dr K Bhakthavatsala, High Court Judge, Additional Advocate General for Karnataka K M Nataraj, N Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, G Nijaganavar, Principal District and Sessions Judge Ashok G Nijaganavar, Monappa Bhandari, MLC, Mangalore Bar Association President SP Chengappa, Padma Prasad Hegde, Member, Karnataka Bar Council and others were present.
