Mangaluru : Founder of Komals Group of Concerns, Mangaluru Vitob S Nagvekar(86), passed away at his residence in Ladyhill on Friday April 3.
He survived by two sons Vidyadar and Ganesh Nagvekar and three daughters. His last rites will be held on Saturday April 4 at 10 am at Bolar crematorium.
Vitob S Nagvekar was a well-known personality in Mangaluru and he had spiritual activities throughout his life.
He was conferred with the titles ‘Guru Seva Niratha’ by Jagadguru HH Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, and ‘Vaishya Ratna’ by Sri Vamanashram Swamiji, Haldipur Math of Vaishya Samaj.
He was the chief editor of ‘Guruvani’, a monthly religious magazine published by Haldipur Guru Math and served Vaishya Education Society as its president.
He was the president of Vaishya Education Society and He also served in Dongerkery Shree Venkataramana Temple for long time.
He was also the president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in the past.
