Mangalore : The officials of Ankola police station has confirmed that four passengers have been killed ion the Mangalore-Mumbai VRL private bus mishap occurred on October 14, Friday night.

.The deceased are identified as Rajith (10) and Rishitha (7), both children of Jayaram from Mulky, and Kumari Shraddha Umesh (23) from Mumbai.

The bus departed from Mangalore at 1 pm and was on its way to Mumbai via Moodbidri and Karkala.

An accident occurred near Kodlugadde on Ankola-Yellapur road on national highway 63 and cause has been not known.

A total of 37 passengers were traveling in the bus. Earlier reports stated that four of them died on the spot, while other three died on the way to hospital.

But the Police sources said that several have been injured, and that the conditions of five are critical.

The injured have been shifted to Yellapur and Hubli hospitals. Police rushed to the spot and rescue operations are on.
