Mangalore : Superintendent of Police Dr A Subramanyeshwar Rao said that there are 25 Zilla Panchayath and 92 Taluk Panchayath booths in Puttur, Bantwal, Sullia and Beltangady which come under 728 police station.
Speaking to the media persons in the press meet held at the mini meeting hall at SP office on Dec 29, he said that each hyper-sensitive booth will be deployed with one head constable, one constable, and two homeguards in the hyper sensitive booths. In the 31 naxal affected booths the department will allocate one head constable, three constables and home guards.
In 728 police stations, 4 DSP’s, 12 CPI, 50 PSI, 85 head constables, 81 constables and 600 home guards will be deployed. The out police staffs will be also deployed such as 1 DSP, 7 CPI, 16 PSI, 75 Head Constables, 397 constables and 157 homeguards from Mangalore, Bangalore and home guards from Tumkur district. The striking mobile squads will respond within 15 minutes in case of incident occurred.
Four taluk will be communicating in separate channels. After the election the arrangement of carrying the ballot boxes will be taken care with measures.
Only one case of cheating has been registered in Bantwal Taluk panchayath, where a false candidate had withdrawn the actual candidate’s name. The person has been taken to custody and the police have filed the cheating and impulse case against him. No single cases have been registered in Mangalore he said.
