Mangaluru : Lifeguards at Someshwar beach, rescued four women, including one from Bengaluru from a certain watery grave on Saturday around 12.30pm.
The another tourists from Anekal in Haveri, who had come to the city on vacation and had gone to the beach. While the trio was sucked in by a rip current, the woman from Bengaluru slipped and fell in to the Sea from a rock.
The rescued identified as Poornima, 32, Geetha, 31, and Sanjeevathi, 22 from Anekal in Haveri. The women ignoring warnings from the locals had gone some 150-metres South of the Somanatha Temple, it is said, timely action by the lifeguards saved them from getting drowned.
The lifeguards have been constantly warning the tourists from venturing in to the Sea. Noting that there was fair enough crowd at the beach even in the morning, the people who watch the three women getting sucked in alerted the lifeguards.
