Mangalore : Acme 2012, the annual commerce festival organized by the Aloysian Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) was inaugurated by Fr. Denzil Lobo, the director of AIMIT on Feb 1 Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the colleges must not only give knowledge confined to classrooms but must promote skills and discipline among students
Fr. Swebert D’Silva, the principal of St. Aloysius College, said that the college encourages students of underprivileged sections of society and develop thier required skills
A total of 10 colleges from Goa and Karnataka are participating in the festival.
The valedictory ceremony will be held on Feb 2 Thursday, during which the winners’ trophy will be presented.
Dr. A. M. Narahari, the registrar of St. Aloysius College; Fr. Francis D’Almeida, the vice principal; Manuel Tauro, the HOD of the commerce department; Dr. Suresh Poojary, the dean of the commerce department; and Kevin Crasta, the secretary of the Commerce Association, were also present.
