Belthangady: Police have taken custody of a astrologer for doing fraud to the people in the name of astrology, on Wednesday.

Ramachandra of Santhekatte is the arrested person. Police have arrested him based on the complaint given by Ramappa resident of Laila.

Ramappa used to consult a astrology shop which was owned by Shyamasundar Shasthri. Shasthri’s elder brother Ramachandra was running the shop. Ramachandra had taken money from Ramappa after assuring to solve all the problems of him. Ramappa gave him Rs 16000 after the assurance.

Later, Ramachandra asked more money and threatened with religious matter if money is not given.

Ramappa registered a complaint at Belthangady police station and police have arrested Ramachandra.
