Mangalore: A circle in a memory of veteran freedom fighter, former MLA and worker’s leader Late M Lokayya Shetty was inaugurated at Ballalbagh in Mangaluru on January 21, Wednesday.

The Gurji Deepotsava Samithi of Ballalbagh in association with Late M. Lokayya Shetty memorial committee constructed a circle in his memorial at Ballalbagh.

Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the Circle while Nitte University Vice Chancellor N Vinay Hegde unveiled the statue of late Lokayya Shetty.

The circle is constructed with red stone and a statue of wrestling an plants in the middle.

Mahabala Maarla, Mayor, AJ Shetty, Chairman of AJ Group of Institutions, Ajith Kumar Rai, President of Buntara Mathra Sangha, Monappa Bhandari, former MLC, Ganesh Hosabettu, former mayor, M Sureshchandra Shetty, President of Gurji Deepotsava Samithi and others were present.
