Bangalore: Gali Janardhana Reddy who was cooling his heels since 6 months September.2011 in a central prison of Hyderabad at chanchalguda was shifted to Bangalore on Friday early morning hours at 3.30 AM with heavy police escort for CBI enquiry and placed In Ulsoor Gate police station this morning.
He was greeted by Bellary rural MLA B. Sriramalu, his sister J. Shantha, MP , and many local admirers, and Bellary supporters.
He will be produced before a special CBI court in the company of about 100 policemen and officers in a team.
Reddy was brought to Bangalore to answer certain charges relating to a mining company (AMC) of Bellary of which he is the director and its illegal mining activities.
A Hyderabad court has asked local police to treat the Bellary don of mining to be treated only as an ordinary person, “without special flights” Reddy was brought from chanchalguda to Ulsoor gate in a mini-bus at dawn on Friday.
The CBI has charge sheeted Reddy and 3 others in obalapuram MC case last December.
The charge sheet says that GT Reddy conducted illegal extraction of iron ore to the extent of 29.30 lakh tons on several areas of Karnataka, apart form 68.5 hectares leased out OMC in Anathpur district across the border.
CBI has made out cases against GJ Reddy (OMC) wife Aruna (AMC) Congress leader V. Muniappa and 18 others, with the filling of FIR on illegal deals.
