Mangaluru: Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Mangaluru, has selected eminent Goan novelist Gajanan Jog’s novel Khanda Ani Hera Katha for the Smt Vimala V Pai Vishwa Konkani Best Konkani book award 2017.

Likewise, the Kendra has selected Mangalurean poet-writer Wilson Kateel’s collection of poems Encounter for the Smt Vimala V Pai Vishwa Konkani Best Konkani Poetry book award 2017, Basti Vaman Shenoy, president of the Kendra said.

he Kendra has also selected Tanaji Harlankar, eminent Konkani researcher, litterateur, Konkani activist and senior leader from Goa for the Vishwa Konkani Jeevan Siddi lifetime award. All these three awards carries a purse of Rs 1 lakh each, a citation, shawl and fruits and will be conferred at an awards function to be held in the city on November 20. Corporate social leader and sponsor of the award T V Mohandas Pai will be in attendance at the awards function.
