Kaup : A Liquid Carbon Dioxide tanker began gas leaking from a tanker on the National Highway 66 near Uliyaragoli Dandatheertha on July 8, Friday.

The tanker was heading towards Mangaluru from Udupi when all of a sudden smoke was noticed. It is learnt that there was leakage when the safety pin of the tanker opened up.

Fire service personnel and Kaup police who rushed to the spot ensured there arose no problem and paved way for smooth movement of vehicular traffic.
