Mangalore: Auto rickshaws using LPG cylinders developed long lines near petrol bunks and gas selling shops in city on May 2, as MRPL had shut down operations and affected supply of auto LPG cylinders.

The Supply was available only in select areas such as Balmatta, Bendorewell and Nagori Capitanio.

MRPL had shut down its 3 units around April 24 and later was allowed to draw its full quota of Netravathi water upto 5.0 MGD daily by April 26.

Janata Auto R.S. Sangha chief Ashok Shetty told pressmen that automen were in a dilemma. Officers concerned are not responding to pleas of auto drivers to supply cylinders, he said. In some petrol bunks, gas is given to select few, he charged.
