Puttur: In a major accident a LPG gas carrying bullet tanker over turned and fell near road side causing tension among the local people at Perne on Monday.

It is reported that the driver lost control over the vehicle which resulted in overturning of the tanker. Driver Alagiri Swamy (30) has survived with injuries and the cleaner of the tanker Velu escaped unhurt. Driver has been admitted in a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Fire and police personnel rushed to the spot and examined for the leakage, but there was no damage to the vehicle and no leakage found by the personnel.

MLA Shakunthala Shetty, SP Bhushan G Borase, ASP Vedamurthy and other officials visited the spot.
It can be remembered that in 2013 due to the overturn of a bullet tanker five people had lost their lives and many had injured.
