Mangalore: In the Storage godown rooms of DK district Food and civil supplies department, there enough Gas stocks for even distribution to customers, all over the Coastal region, hence there is no need for consumers of cooking gas feel worried, said Deputy Director Sharanabasappa, in view of a threatened Gas Tanker (Lorries) strike at Kana Tankers yard looking at the vehicles stationed there, waiting for end of transportation strike.

Bottling (Cylinders) plants are found in Mangalore for Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum companies, whereas Indian Oil Co.(IOC) gas only has to arrive Shimoga. But there is sufficient stocks of gas from  all companies here.

The F/CS department has been in touch with Bharat Petroleum locally at higher level and officials have told, there was no shortage of gas said deptt. Higher-ups on Friday.

Only Tanker lorries are at rest but cooking gas cylinders are moving, assured Sharanabasappa, to cool the situation.
