Uppinangady : A domestic gas tanker coming from Mangaluru overturned near Anepalla of Bollar at on NH-75 in Nekkilady on Wednesday, November 19.

As the result a small amount of gas leakage was reported. Fire personnel from Bantwal and Puttur fire stations have rushed to the spot immediately and plug the leakage and area has been flushed out with water.

The traffic coming towards Mangaluru has been diverted from Nekkilady towards Puttur and reached the city. The traffic towards Bengaluru will be going via Puttur, the police said. Normal flow will be restored by evening after the oil company personnel plug the possible leakage.

It is said, the gas tanker ran into an open drain on the roadside which remained hidden in lush shrubs. The driver and cleaner of the LPG tanker sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
