Mangaluru: St Teresa International Film Festival 2016 organized by the World Catholic Association for Communication’s India chapter (SIGNIS) in association with Canara Communication Centre and Missionary of Charity sisters Mangaluru, was inaugurated by a film maker Gautham Lewis, at Mother Teresa Special School on Moday.
Later, speaking to the media personnel he said that he had been to India to observe the joy of canonisation of Mother Teresa.
While media person asked what inspired him to become a pilot he said that he was a disabled person and he wanted liberation from it. No one even guess that he is a disabled person, until he gets down from the flight.
“I don’t even have an official birthday. One of the doctor declared that February 12, 1977 is my birthday. In fact I lived three times in my life unlike others, first I lived with my biological mother, then with Mother Teresa and then with my adopted mother Patricia,” he said.
“May be I do not have any responsibility towards my biological parents, but I have responsibility towards Mother Teresa, because she served poorest of the poor people. She never wanted anything in return. We have limited ourselves within a boundary. Especially disabled persons have special social responsibility,” he added.
He further said that he is planning to own a home in Kolkata and want to spend six months in Kolkata and rest of the months in a year in London. Though I born in Kolkata lived in London, I have visited more than 150 countries. I have seen many cultures and villages. I have a better perspective on global issues.
Sandesha Director Vijay Victor Lobo, Richard D’ Souza, Director of Canara Communication Centre Mangaluru, Sr Bernadette, from Mother Teresa congregation and others were present.
