Bangalore : Late Sandalwood icon Dr Rajkumar had not even thought of entering politics. Though his counterparts in the neighbouring states – MG Ramachandran and NT Ramarao became Chief Ministers, Annavru kept a safe distance from all the political parties in the state.

But, the latest buzz is that the Karnataka Janata Dala Secular (JDS) party has decided to rope in Raj’s daughter-in-law, Geetha Shivraj Kumar for contesting in the forthcoming election.

Geetha, wife of Kannada actor Shivraj Kumar, is likely to get JDS ticket for Shimoga constituency. Geetha is the daughter of ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka, late Sarekoppa Bangarappa, who had joined JDS in his last days. Her brothers Kumar Bangarappa (Vasanth Kumar) and Madhu Bagarappa are active in politics.

It is reported that JDS senior leaders have asked Madhu Bangarappa to convince Shivanna to make his wife Geetha enter politics. Geeta is Bangarappa’s daughter and Raj’s family member, and these are the two main advantage for the party.

Sources said that people of Shimoga are still having soft corner towards Bangarappa, which JDS is thinking to en-cash in the upcoming election. Meanwhile, there is no conformation from Raj family about Geethakka entering politics.
