Mangalore : The Vishwa Hindu Parishath and Bhajarang Dal activists staged protest in front of DC Office criticizing the statement given by Union Corporate affair minister M Veerappa Moily for comparing the Bhajarang Dal to a ghost.
Addressing the gathering, Sharan Pumpwell, division convener, Bhajarang Dal Mangalore unit said that recently Veerappa Moily has compared Bhajarang Dal to a ghost and Bhajarang Dal condemns this derogatory statement.
He said that Congress members and leaders are said to be the horrifying ghost hence we have rid Veerappa Moily from Mangalore to Chikkaballapur. He must know that Bhajarangi is the name of Lord Maruthi and criticizing the god is shame to his religion. Further the activists will never allow Veerappa Moily to come to Mangalore and participate in any programme and will start opposing it in front of venue or in the Mangalore Airport until he regret for his statement.
Jagadish Shenava of VHP said that Veerappa Moily after becoming the education minister has never got down from the red light car and now this statement gives the hint to off the red light forever.
He also said that he had even authored the epic ‘Sri Ramayaneshwane’, but now the way he insulted the lord Hanumantha shows that he has not written it, but just signed blindly on others copy. The one who has made a study on god and wrote a book will have some religious feeling and devotion before giving such kind of statement and it is not present in him, he added.
Later they also burnt the effigy of Veerappa Moily.
Harish Amtadi, Prof M B Puranik, Gopal Kutthar and other were present at the protest.
