Kasargod: The renovated Govind Pai house, Bhavanika theatre, Gilivindu cultural centre and Govinda Pai statue was inaugurated by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in a programme organised by Majeshwara Govind Pai memorial trust on Thursday at Manjeshwar.
After the stage programme students of Alva’s college performed various cultural events on the occasion. The cultural programmes began with Kerala’s Mohiniattam. Banjara dance, Manipuri stick dance, Orissa’s Gotipuva, Bharathanatyam and Yakshagana were also performed.
Nearly 200 artists had taken participation in the cultural programme out of them 40 were from Sri Lanka. Jeevanram Sullia had directed the Purliya lion dance.
Kerala revenue Minister E Chandra Shekharan inaugurated the Yaksha Degula and Karnataka’s Minister for forest and ecology Ramanath Rai inaugurated Partisubba Stage on the occasion.
