Mangalore: Krishna Palemar DK Minister for Ports and Fisheries, on Tuesday inaugurated a new Girls’ Hostel at KPT in Kadri. The 2  building has 14 rooms, built at a cost of Rs. 60lacs.
The minister informed that several Industrial Training Institutes will be set up in DK cost of Rs.2.90crores soon.
An account of rs.1crore, Palemar said had been now sanctioned by the state construct hostels for girls and backward classes, also minorities in the district, or if necessary, he may rent some available buildings students of these categories.
He admitted to a shortage of 50% in trained teachers in DK schools and colleges but it may take some years to fill vacancies.
The contractor M Suvarna was felicitated on the occasion. City MP Nalin Kumar Kateel MLAs were present, besides MUDA Chairman.
