Mangalore:  A Konkani Writers Forum delegation led by  Henry Mendonca (H M Pernal), Editor of Kittall.com) and Forum President and Marcel D Souza, General Secretary, met Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo and requested him to urge the government to appoint only Konkani writers of eminence to the post of Academy President and members.

The Forum told the minister that injustice has been done to writers since the past several years by failing to give representation to them.

In order to stop injustice, the  government should consider writers of repute who have time to devote to the Academy, while making appoint, the Forum said and also requested at least two membership to the Forum in the Academy. Another request was to provide  funds for the Forum programmes through the Academy.

JR Lobo assured to consider the demands and also to take up the issue with the government so that justice is done to Konkani writers in the Academy.
