Karkala: A temple does not look wholesome even with images and icons, if it does not have a cowshed(GO-shala). A Cow-shed construction is equal to constructing of 100 temples. The cow has divinity, holiness and greatness in her, said Hosanagar Rama chandrapura monastery chief Raghaveshwar Bharathi here on April8, Sunday while opening the ‘Venkataramana GO-shala’ at Seshadrinagar on behalf of a Trust of the same name.
The cattle-loving Swami told his devotees that God himself came as a cowherd in Krishnavatara, as he had and intimate feeling from Kamadhenu as a cow of heavens. Cows are a part of our rural, agricultural and Momadic lives since Aryan times. Every home should have ‘my cow’ feeling about a cow-shelter.
If one cannot look after a cow, contributions should be made to various caw-resorts. Lalchandra Gajria, who established a Trust for GO-Seva (service to the cow) was adorned on this occasion with the title of ‘Lok Seva Ratna’ by the Swamiji.
The V.R. Temple main trustee K.J. Prabhu indorsed the feeling that each temple should have cows in a resort, and the Temple had set aside 5 acres of land for the purpose.
Gajria attributed his endowment to the fulfillment of his elders desire and his father’s devotion to cows.
Go-shala Trust chief Ganapathi Hegde welcomed the gathering.
Ved. Ravindra Bhat compered and thanked.
Dubai industrialist P.S. Kamath and Nitte Varsity’s N V Hegde were present.
