Mangalore: Former Union Minister B Janardhana Poojary said that as a part of Mangalore Dasara the temple authority will distribute sarees to 1500 widows.
Speaking at the press meet held at September 20, Tuesday, he said that widows are the most neglected and treated like untouchable in the today’s world.
The widows are not allowed in any good ceremony to take main roles in family marriages and other, but one must not forget that everyone has to die and women will become widow one or the other day and it is not their mistake, hence they must not be neglected. With this intension, the Management of Kudroli Gokarnatha Temple has invited the widow for their presence for the dasara celebration and even at Chandika Homa, he said.
He also said that they will distribute sarees worth Rs 300 for 1500 widows.
He urged the men to come forward to marry the widow and they will look out the expense of the marriage and will give free Ac hall for the widow marriage purpose.
