Mangalore :  Abhayachandra Jain, State Minister for Youth Servies, Sports and Fisheries said  the DK district has utilized 100 per cent funds sanctioned under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Speaking to reporters here, he said  except some minor works, all major projects taken up under the scheme have been completed.

He said under the Abhiyan the district had secured Rs 26 crore this year, while amount stood at Rs 52 crores last years. He said of the Rs 2.23 crore got by Mangalore Block, Rs 2.22 crore has been utilized.

K Pithambara, Project Officer of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan gave information about a Kalikotsava to be organised in government schools at cluster, school and block levels. The Utsav will display the talents of the children and helping in development of skills. Each block will get Rs 50,000 he said and added there will be a total of 18 competitions.
