Mangalore : A goods train derailed this morning with materials and lost its way between goods shed and Kankanady. There was no casually.

It was carrying LT cement and Tamilnad wheat to the city. Out of 28 wagons of the train, 8 have derailed. 3 bogies are badly damaged. Poor maintenance by railway men is at the route of this mishap. Repairs to the sub standard tracks maintenance will take a week.

Engineers from Shornur are on way to Mangalore (in Palghat division) and will take up repairs work. The derailment caused traffic jam at Pandeshwar crossing (near former Amirtha Talkies in city)
