Kundapur : A man and his nine year old son were killed in a macabre road mishap reported from near Tekkatte in Kundapur on April 27, Saturday afternoon.

The mishap took place near the Tekkatte  petrol bunk when the father and son were on way home at Kedoor.

The speeding Toyota Etios car  belonging to Ambika Travels in Mumbai rammed against the bike in its bid to  overtake. The deceased are Rajesh Acharya (45), a resident of Kedoor, and his son Sharanu (9), who was studying in standard 4 at Kedoor primary school. Both of them died on the spot.

The family of Lakshman Shetty from Mumbai was travelling in the car towards Padubidri for a Nagamandala Pooja. Shetty’s family members Laxmi, Shashikala and Sudhakar were injured in the mishap.

The driver of the car escaped from the scene of the accident. Eyewitnesses said the car was proceeding at great speed.

Kota police are conducting the investigations.
