Mangalore : The three days Go Puja known as ‘Gomandala Gopooja’ organized by the Govanithashraya Trust of Mangalore was inaugurated at Nehru Maidan on Jan 6 Friday.
Shree Ramananda Swami of Shree Kshetra Kollya and Shree Rajashekarananda Swami of Vajradehi Mutt Inaugurated the Gomandala Gopooja.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt said that cows are ill-treated in the society and are taken from one place to the other.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the event like ‘Gomandala Gopooja’ held to worship the cows are auspicious and central government must know its importance and religious feelings and encourage such events at the national level
Coastal Development Authority Chairman B. Nagaraj Shetty presided over the event.
Govanithashraya Trust President Ananth Krishna said that Hindus and cows have a strong bonding between each other.
He said that the aim of the trust is to create public awareness among the people of the country on the importance of cows, which are being slaughtered ruthlessly.
DKMUL President Raviraj Hegde, Prof M. B. Puranik, the VHP chief, and others were present.
