Mangaluru: The state government on Wednesday passed an order by appointing senior advocate of Udupi M Shantharam Shetty as the special public prosecutor for the sensational Bhaskar Shetty murder case.

This order was passed after Bhaskar Shetty’s mother Gulabi Shetty and other family appealed the government to appoint him as the public prosecutor.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Praveen Kumar R N was handling the case for the police till now in additional civil court and the court of the chief judicial magistrate. In the sessions and district the case was handled by district PP Shanti Bai.

Now, the previous PP’s have to hand over all the documents related to the case to Shantharam Shetty.

To enable the public prosecutor Shantharam to file objections to the bail plea of prime accused of the case Rajeshwari Shetty, the court has postponed the hearing to Wednesday, but no objections were filed on Wednesday, so the court was adjourned till October 28.
