Mangaluru: Advocate, Raveendranath Kamath, has been appointed as the special public prosecutor to handle the murder case of RTI activist, Vinayak Baliga.
The state government has issued an order has been issued to this effect.
It may be recalled that Baliga was murdered near his home on March 21, 2016.
The family members of Baliga, who happen to be the complainants in the case have expressed their displeasure at the slow pace of investigation into the case.
It is gathered that B N Krishnaiah, under secretary to the government in the department of internal administration, used his discretionary powers and issued orders to appoint Raveendranath Kamath as special public prosecutor at their behest.
