Mangalore : The inaugural of Government First Grade College’s Students Council and annual magazine releases was held at Town Hall on August 9, Monday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Prof TC Shivashankar Moorthy, vice chancellor of Mangalore University said that the Mangalore University has improved to the present day. The library has developed with the facilities such as computers and internet, which is far better than the previous library.
Today the service field like education is slowly changing to business field, hence the instructions must retain its value by providing qualitative education to the students, he said.
An education is important for the development of the country and lecturers must to work to give meaningful education for the students, which help them to shape their future life, he added.
MLA Yogesh Bhat, in his presidential address said that, earlier the city had lot of drinking water problem, but now it has been solved. In future people of city will get good roads and well maintained drainage facility.
Further Mangalore must get golf stadium, ring road and various other infrastructural facilities and it will be implemented step by step, with the support of donors, he informed.
In order to dcrease the infant mortality rate, the government, corporate communication and Various NGO’s came come forwarded to provide the financial assistance and finally the REPCC was established, he added.
Working for the welfare of the educational institution will be shown more interest, but the management must assure to provide cent percent result the examination, he stated.
He also released the annual magazine of the college ‘Theru’ on the occasion.
Prakash Chandra Shishila, principal of the college addressed the gathering on the occasion.
