Mangaluru : The BJP alleged on Tuesday that the State government has failed to ensure sand supply to people in Dakshina Kannada without foreseeing the problem.
Addressing presspersons, Pratapsimha Nayak, president, Dakshina Kannada unit of the party, said that people who were struggling to get sand for construction works had come to the streets.
The government should have taken measures to ensure that it did not happen. The government should solve the issue at the earliest.
He alleged that the government had also failed to ensure proper power supply now as students were appearing for examinations. It indicated the lack of responsibility of the government.
Mr. Nayak said that even a month after declaring the results of zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat elections, the government had not announced reservations to the posts of presidents and vice-presidents.
Members of zilla and taluk panchayats should have assumed office now as they could have brought to the notice of the government effectively issues relating to drinking water supply.
A forum to discuss the issues would have been created.
But the government was dilly-dallying to announce the reservations.
