Bengaluru: The red-faced Governor of Karnataka, fresh from his defeat at the hands of CM in the latest round of bouts, told a golden jubilee function of KPSC on May 18, here that BJP had made a demand foe his “recall” by Delhi, but that he was subject to the doctrine of “pleasure” as Governor under the president and scoffed at the leg-pullers by adding that he could not be recalled by any person (even PM?) except the President who had appointed him (as governor of her pleasure).
Sharing the dais with Chief Minister Yeddy at the govt. function for the first time after the Supreme Court verdict on 11 BJP MLAs, which cost Rs.25 lakhs to BJP, to ferry 120 MLAs to New Delhi in 3 planes on Sunday evening to meet the President and parade the MLAs before her, Governor was seen exchanging notes with CM in a relaxed mood.
He admitted in his address that CM had a “massive majority” without any doubt and was a hard-working person. The Governor praised CM that he had been toiling for the development of the state, with hardly 4 to 6 hours of rest. He said he had nothing personal against Yeddyurappa, and showered encomiums on the bureaucrats of the state (including chief secretary and other secretaries), who were performing better than their counterparts in other states.
CM Yeddyurappa on his part, when his turn came to speak at the KPSC function, recalled his past as a second division clerk, and that after becoming CM, he learnt a lot of lessons. He dedicated himself in the next 2 years to give a “transparent administration” and sought the co-operation of all seniors to that end.
That brings to an end a raging political war between a “Congressman” Governor and the BJP CM in Karnataka, over thorny issues that draw blood between the two administrators.
