Bangalore: The Govt. hospital doctors have decided to take their fight for demands to the streets, with hunger strike form March 14, remaining absent on duty subsequently, and not serving the patients coming to Govt. hospitals for treatment anymore.
A scarcity of nurses and doctors may be created in due course, with patients running from pillars to post for help. The contractual services of these doctors and nurses are not properly taken care of by the govt. department, but when the doctors were doing post graduate studies they were looked after, why the govt has presently ignored us, asks Govt. Medical Officers’ Union Chief, Dr.H.N Ravindra in complaining tones.
Speaking to newsmen he revealed that an order issued by the Chief Secretary was canceled by the Secretary of Mediacal Education Dept.. Many old demands and promises made by the Govt to us, are pending, hence the need for a fight now, he added.
No one wants to put people on hardships, but when we do not get what we deserve in medical services, it is time o fight the Govt, face to face.
