Belthangady: State Minister for Higher Education and District Minister CT Ravi has said that the government was thinking in terms of providing concrete roads to Malnad region spread over six districts which experience heavy rainfall, resulting in poor longevity of asphalted roads.
Speaking at the progress review meeting at the Taluk Panchayat Auditorium on August 13, Monday, he called upon officials to complete any project within time limit.
When District Health Officer Dr Srirangappa pointed out that a new building could not be constructed for the Dharmasthala Government Hospital despite it being upgraded,the minister directed the tahsildar to identify a suitable location within 10 days.
The health officer pointed out that 17 dengue cases have been detected in Belhtangady while it was 133 in the entire district. However, Legislator Vasanth Bangera alleged that the Dengue hit areas have been neglected. Even the attention of the minister was drawn towards the eight vacancies in the health department.
Officials of various departments were present and gave information of their respective departments.
