Mangalore : UT Khader, State health and family welfare minister who addressed a meeting at the Wenlock Hospital along with members of a study team which arrived from Bangalore, elaborated on the various plans on anvil to upgrade Wenlock Hospital and also to provide better facilities.
He said a 250 bed multi-speciality block is on cards and added it would be housed in the hospital or else a new building would be raised by demolishing any old block of the hospital.
He said there were also plans to increase the beds in the hospital from the present 704 to 1000.
Dr Rajeshwari, District Surgeon, Wenlock Hospital, Dr Shakuntala, Medical Superintendent of Lady Goschen hospital, MLR JR Lobo and others were present.
The study team from Bangalore includes Dr Narayan, Deputy Director of National Rural Health Mission, Dr Nischith, Deputy Chief Finance Officer, Dr Ganesh, advisor to KSHS and Dr Malavika.
