Mangalore : Hundreds of workers including representatives of various organizations took part in a protest held under the auspices of the CITU in front of DC office in Mangalore on September 20, Friday. A huge jatha amid heavy rains was also taken out.
Speaking on the occasion, senior CITU leader K Madhava said the governments have not been keen to solve the problems of the labourers. He said the several demands including social security, better wages, minimum wages have not been fulfilled. He added that severe protest would be staged if the demands were not fulfilled.
The jatha was taken out from Jyothi Circle to DC office.
Leaders and members of Beedi Workers Association, Autorickshaw Drivers and Owners Association and several others participated in the protest programme.
