Mangalore : The Grama Panchayat Noukarara Sangha (CITU) will organize a day night dharani satyagraha in front of Zilla Panchayat office from November 3, Thursday 10 am to November 4, Friday 10 am.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 28, Friday K Yadav Shetty, president of Grama Panchayat Noukarara Sangha (CITU) said that the organization has succeeded in giving minimum wages, dearness allowance, future fund, Janasri insurance policy and other benefits to the workers after fighting against chief minister and Panchayath Raj ministers.
But still even to present day around 2000 gram panchayath workers of Dakshina Kannada are not legally getting the full-fledged facilities. The organization has even given a written complaint to assistant labour commissioner regarding the facilities not received to the workers. Hence inorder to fulfill the demands, the organization holds the satyagraha, he said.
He also said that the demand to provide the dearness allowance which is pending from 3 years, implementation of Janasri Insurance scheme, 50 percent reservation for panchayath workers for the post of assistant accountant and other will be put forth, he said.
General secretary Jayaram Master, Ramappa Poojary and Sanjay Prabhu were present at the press meet.
