The MLA ‘s, Zilla and Taluk panchayat leaders were present during the reservation polling process to make the process transparent without having any secrecy, said Additional Deputy commissioner Prabhakar Sharma.
After the successful gram panchayat election held at Mangalore Taluk, he was speaking while announcing the reservation for the president and vice president post for the year 2010 in various gram panchayat held at Town Hall on June 4, Friday.
The reservation for the post of president and vice president was reserved for Schedule caste, Schedule Tribe, Backward Class –A, Backward Class- B and general reservations.
The selection procedure for the post of president as well as vice president was conducted in a form of lucky draw, where the concerned authorities classified the division between the classes and dropped the chit consisting of gram panchayat names in each and asked the gathered audience to pick it according to the rules.
