Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada ZP President Meenakshi Shantigodu said that grama panchayat and some departments are showing laziness in implementing NREGA Rozgar scheme.

In a meeting held at ZP, Mangaluru on Monday she said that all the grama panchayath’s have directed to take minimum 50 individual works.

“To do pro social works Rozgar scheme gives a lot of opportunities, but because of laziness of grama panchayath’s the scheme is not implemented properly in the district,” she said

ZP Vice-President Kasturi Panja said that Anganavadi construction work is moving very slowly. In some of the places since two years Anganavadi construction is going on.

“When the road construction work is going on, drainage work also should be carried out in the same project,” she said.

ZP CEO P I Sreevidhya directed the TP CO’s to conduct survey for the nurseries.

She further said that Construction of 10 PU colleges haven’t taken seriously by the KRIDL officials. If the construction work is not started in a week then strict action will be taken on those officials.
