Mangalore : The city of Mangalore is celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi with great religious fervour. Idols of Ganapathi are installed at homes and worshipped to be immersed later in the night.

Meanwhile, Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava celebrations are also being held in public platforms at various. Colourful pandals have been laid and Ganesha idols have been installed.

Huge idols of Lord Ganesha have been installed at Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava venues like Nehru Maidan, Sanghaniketan, Omkara Nagar, KSRTC, Police lane, Bejai, Kulshekhar, Jeppinamogaru and other places.

The police have maintained tight security toe ensure peace during Ganeshotsava celebrations which will continue for upto a week.
