Mangalore: The Mangalore Dasara celebrations of Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatha Temple drew to a spectacular close with a colourful and grand Shobhayatra featuring a number of tableaux apart from the idols of the Navadurgis and Goddess Sharada.
Thousands and thousands of people thronged the streets of Mangalor to witness the grand spectacle which was a feast for the eyes. The procession with the traditional Kerala Chende Kalladka dolls, Andhra Kolata, Dollu Kunitha, huli vesha teams as well as numerous tableaux depicting historical and mythological sequences added a special charm and grace to the great occasion.
That this is the Dasara being celebrated on the centenary year of the Temple, made it more special. The procession which passed through Ladyhill Lalbagh, PVS, KS Rao Road, Carstreet, culminated at the temple premises where the idols were immersed in the Temple lake after ceremonial rituals on the morning of October 25, Thursday.
