Mangalore: The Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations concluded with the Mosaru Kudike festivities on September 9, Sunday. Mosaru Kudike was celebrated in various parts of the city like Attavar, Kavoor, Kottara and other places.
Youths from various associations and organizations enthusiastically took part in the celebrations and broke pots after forming pyramids. Large crowds had gathered despite rains to watch the festivities. If, in the past, the pots used to be filled with milk or curds, in recent times they are filled with coloured water, cons and flowers.
In Attavar the Mosaru Kudike procession featured several attractive tableaux depicting mythological and historical scenes. The Huli Veshas were the special attraction. There was even the Nasik Band.
