Mangalore : A Green Walkathon as part of World Green Building Week was organized in Mangalore on September 22, Saturday,  by the  Bearys Institute of Technology-Student Chapter of the Indian Green Building Council, with an objective of sensitizing Mangaloreans on the importance of green buildings. The rally culminated at Mangala Stadium after passing through main roads of the town.

Earlier, Syed Mohammed Beary, Chairman, IGBC – Bangalore Chapter and BIT flagged off the Walkathon at Nehru Maidan. In his address, he exhorted Mangaloreans to provide due importance to environment protection and to promote green buildings which use less energy water and natural resources.

NSS students of various students including Srinivas Institute of Technology and Bearys Institute of Technology, took part in the walkathon.
