26.06.10 Mangalore : The Bala GP member Gregory Patrao is emerging as a strong farmers’ leaders with his defiant agitation in favour of farmers’ rights to their lands over industrial expansions in the state receiving the active support of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike today, when the agitation as a whole entered 10th ,in a crying Monsoon full of rains, since three days.
KRV President (local) Dr. M. Annaiah Kulal, addressed the gathering today. He said a farmer like Gregory has suffered injustice when his 350 year old ancestral house was demolished without proper approval of authorities, while corrupt ministers and officials get encouragement in their foul games, the poor men and working people get nothing in justice. Is there no place in society for those who raise their voice against corrupt practices and dirty activities in public? There is no social justice, nor legal justice, available to common men a large society, where only politicians cannot thrive at all times.
Under such adverse circumstances KRV is prepared to fight and pay any price or make any sacrifice to secure justice. The local KRV chief made the demanded of giving maximum powers to the Lokayukta and justice to Gregory in his continuous foght.
Local Vedike unit office bearers, PV George, VK Shetty, Suresh Achar, Jaypraksh Shetty, Convenor Majeed Bunder and Hameed Bengre were present and participated in the protest rally.
