Mangalore : The clash erupted between two groups in Pavoor Debbeli of Harekala village under Konaje police limits left eight persons injured on September 21 Sunday.
The injured have been identified as Mithun Poonja (25), Prasad (28), Girish Acharya (33), Satyaprasad (30) and Sachin (25), who are admitted at KS Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte; and Fayaz (23), a resident of Pavoor Baithar, Ameer (25) and Azharudhin (20) are admitted at Yenepoya Hospital , Deralakatte.
It is said that, Jayanth, a resident of Debbeli was out with two of his friends when Nizam, a resident of Baithar, came in his auto and made fun of the three. Angered by this Jayanth along with his friends hit Nizam.
Later , Nizam along with his brothers and friends went to Jayanth’s house to attack him but unfortunately entered wrong house. When Nizam asked about Jayanth, the heated conversation took place between Nizam’s group and another group.
A case was registered in Konaje police station and reached to comprise by closing the matter. But the clash erupted again on Sunday injuring eight persons.
One of the injured identified as Fayaz said that he was walking along the road with Ameer and Azharuddin to attend the inauguration of a new mosque, when a group of 15 people assaulted them with deadly weapons on his back and legs.
While Mithun from another group said that after the RSS meet, he was walking towards a ground near his house, when a group of 40 people attacked him and his friends with deadly weapons, seriously injuring him on the neck and back and Girish Acharya in the head, and other friends including Prasad, Girish, Satyaprasad and Sachin too. The group also damaged Mithun Poonja’s house.
A case has been registered at Konaje police station.
