Mangalorean director Abhaya Simha’s debut film enters Indian Panorama section.
Mangalore: In the Panorama section of 2008, Mangalorean Abhaya Simha’s debut film in Kannada, “Gubbachigalu” (sparrows) has been selected, a great honour to Simha.
The film is about the hustle and bustle of a city. Whose concrete construction cannot accommodate a sparrow and its nest two children, obviously it is a children’s affair, go in search of the missing birds usually fund in suburbs in courtyards. The kids think they are responsible for the disappearance of the little jumping birds in a guilty feeling. They go to unusual place and meet uncommon persons, who tell them that the sparrows are still alive. But however much the searching kids look around for them, Sparrows, like the Indian Cheetah, have lapsed into a non-entity. Will they find them is a suspenseful matter on view.
Abhaya, an Aloysian who completed PFTII course in Pune film making, also did journalism. A musical video ‘Euphoria’ is done by him.
